E-Advocacy: Build a Bridge, Not a Wall

Build a bridge, not a wall, with a thoughtfully crafted, humane immigration policy. You can help by clicking here.

Congress needs to reform immigration laws so that they keep our country safe AND take into account the millions of undocumented immigrants who are already here and are productive citizens, but living a half-existence in the shadows of our communities. We need an immigration policy that will:

  • Fashion border protection policies that are consistent with American humanitarian values and effectively keep out terrorists and dangerous criminals;
  • Reduce the waiting time for separated families;
  • Provide a path to become lawful permanent residents and eventually citizens to those who are already hard-working, contributing members of our communities;
  • Give wage and workplace protections to those who migrate here; and
  • Create safe, legal, and orderly pathways to those who want to enter the U.S. to work and are responding to the needs of employers.

The commandment to be kind to strangers appears in the Torah 36 times โ€“ more than any other commandment. As Jews with our own history of being โ€œstrangers,โ€ we know the many struggles that immigrants must face. Urge Congress to adopt legislation that will fix a broken system and not allocate billions of dollars to construct an ill-conceived wall.
