Fri, Mar 20, 2020 • 6:00 PMSat, Mar 21, 2020 • 2:00 PM

While we are not able to complete our Mitzvah Project this week, we are able to livestream Erev Shabbat Services as usual. You can tune in here on our website or on our Facebook page.

Join congregants and friends for a Shabbat to remember.

Friday, March 20

6:00 PM Erev Shabbat Services, featuring the inspiring Arts for Immigrants Choir. During the service, we’ll hear Bennett Gross, Senior Board Advisor to the Multifaith Alliance for Refugees, inspire us to help alleviate the situation in Syria. We’ll also officially welcome Rabbi Juli and Adam Karol’s baby daughter into the Jewish community with a baby naming ceremony.

Following After services, join us for a festive oneg, and help us sort and pack hygiene and relief supplies for the Multifaith Alliance for Syrian Refugees. These supplies will be shipped in a container sponsored by CRS, and we will be able to track its progress as the life-saving aid makes it way to those in need in Syria.

Saturday, March 21

9:00 AM Sholom Sprouts Singin’ Swingin’ Shabbat (ages 0–5)

10:00 AM Shabbat Morning Services

10:15 AM Shabbat Morning Chapel Service, featuring a unique chance to learn with Ahed Festuk, Manager of Humanitarian Relief for the MFA, who will tell her own personal story of war and asylum from Aleppo to NYC.

Following Shabbat Morning Chapel Service, all are invited to join us once again to pack relief supplies for Syrian refugees.

[accordian title=”What is the Multifaith Alliance for Refugees?”]

Multifaith Alliance for Syrian Refugees (MFA) is the nation’s leading interfaith response to the Syrian refugee crisis with more than 100 participating organizations. They focus on providing humanitarian aid directly to war victims inside Syria and to raising funds for organizations that provide direct services on the ground. To date, MFA has facilitated the delivery of more than $133M of relief, including clothing, blankets, food, sanitary items, medications, medical equipment and supplies, water filtration kits and much more.[/accordian]

To help us prepare, we are asking for people to RSVP using the form below. This opportunity is open to members and non-members. A festive oneg will follow the service.

Each Friday evening the Rodeph Sholom community joins together to welcome Shabbat in a joyful service of prayer, music, song and moments of quiet contemplation. Our Erev Shabbat service is a perfect way to end the week and begin recharging for the week ahead.
